Our history

It was in 1972 that Richard Géraldeau started selling tires by acquiring Pneus Lachine.

Until his death in 1998, Mr. Géraldeau senior continued to grow the family business. The same year his eldest son Steve took over the controls, continuing the work started by his father. Sonia, Steve's sister, decided to join the team in 2000 and began her career in the family business. In 2013 a fire ravaged their warehouse and this incident would then become a decisive moment for the future. Instead of rebuilding, Steve and Sonia decide to sell the commercial warehouse land and buy a competitor called Southward Tires. It was therefore in August 2014 that Steve took over as owner of Pneus & Rechapage Montréal inc. This transaction is a key moment for the family business since now Steve and Sonia have a Bandag retreading plant.

This transaction also marks the beginning of a collaboration between Bridgestone and Pneus Southward. In 2019, the Lachine Tire land and building were sold and all Lachine Tire operations were transferred to Southward Tires. Anxious to always expand its customer base, the same year the Géraldeau’s bought a competitor called Pneus Solution. At the heart of all these events, customer service and impeccable work always remain a priority.
